Now VELUX offers different solutions for flat and low-sloped roofs with the new VELUX Electric Opening Flat Roof Skylights, only available at selected retailers including Action Sheetmetal & Roofing!
These new state-of-the-art skylights (product code VCE) are not advertised in the VELUX Trade Brochure as they are only available to selected dealers, which Action is proud to be one of. They resemble the fixed Flat Roof Skylight (FCM) but they are noticeably broader and more solid, and they of course open. They are also installed the same as the fixed Flat Roof Skylight (FCM) as they have the same style of custom base flashing which Action makes.
Designed for curb mounted installations, the VCE electric venting skylight is the ideal daylighting solution for overhead applications. It brings in abundant natural light and with the touch of a button, opens to let in fresh air. And if you forget to close it, the VCE also closes automatically in case of rain.
The VELUX Electric Opening Flat Roof Skylights Comes with a 1.5 metre long cord, motor and transformer built into the base of the frame, 2 rain sensors, and a new touch screen key pad. What’s more, they are double glazed with a coating that activates within 6 months of use to prevent water and dirt build-up, keeping the window cleaner for longer. For the science buffs out there, it is a photocatalytic coating comprising of Silicone Dioxide and Titanium Dioxide, which reacts with the sun’s UV rays to decompose surface organic dirt. The coating also makes the glass surface smoother, so water disperses evenly, sheets off and evaporates quickly, thereby minimising water spotting on the pane.
