Recently we tweeted a photo (see below) of some copper sheet that had been punched with an 18mm square grid pattern, designed to allow enough light and air through the screen whilst maintaining privacy on a large street frontage window and providing some thermal screening.
Those 6m long copper sheets have now been expertly roll formed and installed by ZC Technical, a Brisbane based specialist fabricator and installer of copper and zinc titanium sheeting. The end result is an outstanding bespoke copper clad screen facade that will continue to improve with age.
The perforated screening was used over a large double glass window that also faces west and matches in with stunning solid copper panelling that is the facade across the face of the home and continues through the entry foyer.
We strongly believe that it is the end user’s needs that count – not the supplier’s. So please don’t be limited in your design thinking by common shapes or sizes without exploring your options with us. There are many creative ways that materials can be utilised to minimise waste which controls costs and is environmentally responsible manufacturing.

Copper perforated and ready for rollforming.
The completed screens in place giving the owners the privacy they required whilst still allowing the diffused light and breeze through.
The pattern was carefully designed to allow enough light and air through whilst maintaining its form through rollforming. The challenge was to balance the open area and preserve structural integrity.
