Order Roofing Materials for Storm Damage Repairs Now
The Gold Coast has just experienced one of the worst thunder storms in recent memory, with torrential rain and strong winds that will have exposed many leak points in roofs around the Coast. It was also an awesome display of the power of lightning. Now is the time to be ordering replacement roof sheets and roof flashings to secure your home or business from water.
Click below to see some of the vision we captured which demostrates why it is critical to keep gutters clean and replace damaged sections before you get heavy rain.

If you’d like to see the common roof flashings that we make please click here for a link to the flashing chart.
To see the current range of Colorbond colours please click here for a link to the chart. If you don’t see the colour of your roof and it is a few years old it may have been retired by Colorbond. But never fear there are still limited stocks of retired colours available. Check with us today if you can’t find the Colorbond colour to match what you have.
It’s critical to check your gutters – especially if you have box gutters
Does your home have a fairly flat roof with box gutters? If so, you need to make sure that there’s nothing blocking the sump or overflow. At Action we make a perforated sump guard that helps to keep rubbish out of your sump and the water flowing through. Initially designed for shopping centres and commercial buildings where crows and ibis go through rubbish and drop it on the roof where it makes its way to the sump and blocks it creating a leak into buildings, we’ve found that they are a great idea for all box gutters where there is a risk of rubbish collecting.
An example of a perforated Colorbond sump cover that lets water through but keeps rubbish like chip packets and coke bottles out.
Some quick facts about the storm from the Gold Coast Bulletin:
- Many Gold Coast suburbs received over 50mm of rain
- More than 3000 homes lost power
- Hail the size of golf balls hit Tweed Heads
- Delays to flights at Gold Coast Airport was caused by and evacuation of the tarmac
- After a transmission tower was hit by lightning, Gold Coast radio stations and TV signals were unable to transmit for about an hour.
